Update for November 17, 2017

Message from Lizy It’s been 7 weeks that I have been out of the studio and away from teaching now and it’s been a process of paying attention every day to know my body is telling me. It took me a long time, to be honest with my doctor as well with myself about the level of my health truly was. So often we find ourselves in a trap of living our daily lives with obligations that we can’t turn away from. We depend on our income, other people depend on us, commitments have been made. We push aside our needs and what our body is saying to us, toughing it out, saying we...

Update for November 7, 2017

Update for November 7, 2017 Message from Lizy I’ve been away on a 5 day retreat up in Bowser, secluded in a little beachfront cottage.  My daily companions have been a couple of type of ducks, a kingfisher, a seal,  an eagle, some seagulls and a little squirrel that snuck up occasionally on the deck. I have heard from some people that you haven’t come to the studio as you are missing me, and I really appreciate that so much.  At the same time, what I want...

Hiatus Update for October 31, 2017

Update for Oct 31, 2017 Message from Lizy: Facebook has a great feature called “On this day” and today this picture came up when I was dressed as the “Loan Arranger.” I’m grateful to be reminded of how I used to be in my body, unhealthy, unhappy about it, hating all of the options I had and thinking that something drastic might have to be done to help me. Through some great encouragement, healthy eating, a commitment to regular exercise, Zumba and Zumba Toning, I made changes in my life, my body and how I feel about myself.  My body is a work in progress and you...

Hiatus Update for October 24, 2017

Update on October 24, 2017 The journey towards health has officially begun with meeting the neurologist at Victoria General Hospital who started a treatment plan. My body is getting used to side effects of new meds and supplements, it’s all a process of trying one thing or another. I have an MRI booked for Nov 12th, which can be good or bad.  When nothing shows, it still leaves the vagueness of post-concussion and no explanation of why you feel the way that you do.  If it does show something, then you know that you have suffered damage to your brain and that can be a hard thing...

Hiatus Update October 16, 2017

Altered Classes schedule at Studio Fitness. Classes at Esquimalt United are on Hiatus at this time Here is the current update on classes at Studio Fitness Update for October 16th, 2017 Big day tomorrow for me as I start seeing the clinic. It’s the first step on the road to recovery for me and it made me reflect how I encourage people to make the first step into my class at the beginning of their journey. No matter what challenges you in life set the goal to start. Once you take that first step, go slowly for success. Be deliberate and leave room for setbacks, hurdles, and mistakes....
